Detailed Review
The Levoit Core 300-P is a compact home air purifier built for people who deal with pet hair, dander, dust, or allergy triggers indoors. It sits comfortably in a bedroom, living room, or home office, and its AHAM VERIFIDE certification sets it apart from purifiers that rely only on their own marketing claims for performance numbers.
The CADR (Clean Air Delivery Rate) figures tell the real story here. The unit is rated at 143 CFM for smoke, 153 CFM for dust, and 167 CFM for pollen, all independently verified by AHAM. In practical terms, that means it cycles the air in a 222 square foot room about 4.8 times every hour, which is a meaningful rate for allergy sufferers. It can also handle a much larger 1,073 square foot space at one air change per hour if you just need light, whole-room coverage. The 56W motor driving this output is what makes those numbers possible.
One of the most useful features for bedroom use is Sleep Mode, powered by QuietKEAP Technology. At 24dB, it runs at a level most people would not notice over ambient household sound. It is worth knowing, though, that the filter's HEPA-grade performance (99.97% filtration of particles from 0.1 to 0.3 microns) is specifically verified at Sleep Mode operation. The listing does not specify filtration efficiency at higher fan speeds. The filter choice also matters: three options are available, a Pet Allergy filter for dander and odors, a Smoke Remover filter for wildfire smoke and particulates, and a Toxin Absorber filter for smog and VOCs. You pick the one that fits your situation.
On the practical side, Levoit recommends sticking with official replacement filters. Off-brand filters may not fit correctly and could affect performance or damage the unit. That means a recurring cost to factor in. The listing also does not state how often filters need replacing, so you will want to check that separately before buying.
Verdict: The Core 300-P is a well-specified, independently certified air purifier that makes the most sense for allergy sufferers and pet owners who want quiet overnight operation and the flexibility to choose a filter suited to their specific air quality problem. If you need coverage for a large open-plan space at high air-change rates, you may want to consider a higher-capacity unit.

- Want to avoid the ongoing expense of brand-specific replacement filters
FAQ
Is this purifier certified by an independent organization?
Yes. It carries the AHAM VERIFIDE seal, which means its CADR ratings for smoke, dust, and pollen have been independently tested and verified by the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers.
Can I use third-party replacement filters to save money?
Levoit advises against it. The listing states that off-brand filters may be unreliable and could damage the unit, so official Levoit filters are recommended for proper fit and performance.
What filter should I choose if I have pets?
The Pet Allergy Filter is the option designed for this situation. It is built to capture pet dander and reduce unpleasant odors, while the other filter options focus on smoke or VOCs.
How quiet is it really during Sleep Mode?
The unit operates at 24dB in Sleep Mode according to the listing. That is a very low level, roughly comparable to a quiet whisper in a still room.
