Detailed Review
The LuckyWish 17-Inch Large Wooden Chess Set provides a full-size traditional playing surface paired with integrated storage for home matches, club sessions, and casual games. Sized at 16.93 inches, the folding board offers plenty of room to keep the layout open, making it simple to track every move across the squares without crowding.
Crafted from polished wood, both the board and pieces feature a smooth finish designed for regular handling. The set includes 34 standard Staunton design pieces, giving you the traditional 32 chessmen along with two bonus queens for pawn promotions. Each piece is fitted with a felt bottom that helps it glide across the board while minimizing surface scratches during play.
When the match concludes, the board folds shut to serve as an internal storage box for all 34 pieces. This self-contained setup keeps the components together so you can pack them for travel or slide the board onto a shelf until your next session.
As a consideration, the 16.93-inch footprint requires a decent amount of table space compared to compact pocket sets. Additionally, while the product name mentions weighted pieces, the listing does not provide exact piece weights or specific wood species details.
Verdict: The LuckyWish 17-Inch Chess Set is a well-rounded choice for beginners, club players, and families who want a classic wooden board with internal storage. Its large layout and extra queens make it a practical set for everyday practice and casual play.
