Detailed Review
The DEWALT STEALTHSONIC DXV05P-QT is a 5-gallon wet and dry utility vacuum designed for cleaning workspaces, vehicles, garages, and jobsites without the deafening roar typical of utility vacuums. It suits DIYers, homeowners, and jobsite workers who need serious suction for varied messes but prefer a quieter work environment.
Its 4 Peak HP motor uses STEALTHSONIC technology to deliver strong suction with significantly reduced noise output. The unit is engineered with durable components and a high-efficiency motor intended for frequent, consistent use on liquid spills or dry debris. A compact 5-gallon tank provides a solid balance between holding volume and overall portability, making it practical to transport around tight spaces like car interiors or crowded workshops.
Outfitting the vacuum is straightforward thanks to a complete attachment bundle. You get a 1-7/8-inch by 7-foot hose, two extension wands, a floor brush, a utility nozzle, and a crevice nozzle. For filtration, the package includes a washable cartridge filter, a foam filter, and a disposable dust bag. A tool adapter and a dedicated accessory storage bag help keep the setup organized and adaptable to different cleaning tasks.
Trade-offs stem largely from its mid-sized form factor. The 5-gallon capacity means you will have to empty liquid or bulky debris more frequently than you would with a full-sized commercial drum. Additionally, the listing does not specify the power cord length or overall unit weight, so you may need an extension cord depending on your setup.
Verdict: The DEWALT STEALTHSONIC DXV05P-QT is an excellent choice for anyone who needs reliable wet and dry vacuuming power without loud, disruptive operation. It is especially well-suited for garage workshops, car detailing, and home renovation cleanups where quiet performance and portability matter.
