Detailed Review
The DEWALT STEALTHSONIC DXV06P-QT is a 6-gallon wet/dry shop vacuum engineered to tackle tough liquid spills and dry workshop debris without the intense racket common to utility vacuums. It suits workshop owners, DIYers, and homeowners who need heavy-duty suction for messy cleanups but want a significantly quieter workspace.
At the center of the machine is a 5 HP motor equipped with StealthSonic technology, which operates 50 percent quieter while offering 3.0 times the lifetime of the current model. Suction and airflow remain strong enough for heavy dirt, sawdust, and standing water. Mobility is supported by 360-degree rubberized non-marring casters, a sturdy top handle, and a large water-resistant power switch for straightforward operation.
With a 10-foot power cord, a 7-foot locking hose (1-7/8 inches wide), and two extension wands, the vacuum provides over 17 feet of total reach. DEWALT packages this unit with a full suite of accessories, including a washable cartridge filter, disposable dust bag, foam filter, floor brush, round brush, utility nozzle, crevice nozzle, tool adaptor, and an accessory storage bag.
While the 6-gallon drum offers solid capacity for everyday shop tasks, larger industrial jobs may require frequent emptying compared to higher-capacity drum units. You also need to keep track of multiple swappable filters and nozzles depending on whether you are vacuuming wet or dry messes.
Verdict: The DEWALT STEALTHSONIC DXV06P-QT delivers dependable 5 HP wet and dry cleanup in a significantly quieter package. It is an excellent choice for anyone wanting versatile cleaning power without ear-splitting motor noise.
