Detailed Review
The DEVAISE 3 Drawer Wood File Cabinet provides a dedicated storage and organization hub for home offices and shared work areas. Instead of using a single universal mechanism, this vertical unit equips each of its three drawers with its own separate lock. This allows you to restrict access to specific sections, making it practical for dividing personal items, general supplies, and confidential paperwork.
Document management is handled in the bottom drawer, which features adjustable hanging rails designed to hold Letter, A4, and Legal size folders. The drawer relies on full-extension silent slides, giving you unhindered access to files positioned at the very back. On top, the robust engineered wood surface is sturdy enough to hold an office printer, while an integrated side hook gives you a handy spot to hang headphones or a bag.
Mobility and stability are balanced through a five-wheel design. Four casters let you roll the cabinet under or beside a desk, and two front locking brakes keep the unit firmly in place when needed. An extra anti-tip caster sits beneath the bottom drawer, stabilizing the frame to prevent tipping when the drawer is pulled all the way out. For assembly, all included components are clearly labeled to keep setup straightforward.
Because this is a compact vertical unit, filing capacity is confined to the bottom compartment while the upper drawers serve standard storage needs. The piece is built from engineered wood, which requires assembly out of the box. Additionally, the listing does not provide exact weight capacities or exterior dimensions, so you will want to consider the footprint beneath your desk.
Verdict: This DEVAISE cabinet is an excellent choice for anyone who needs mobile under-desk storage with multi-tier privacy. Its individual locks, versatile file frame, and anti-tip stability make it a reliable organizational piece for home or shared office spaces.
