Detailed Review
The DEVAISE 2 Drawer Metal File Cabinet provides organized, secure document storage designed to fit under a desk or stand beside an office workstation. Built from cold-rolled steel, it handles routine paperwork while doubling as a heavy-duty surface that can hold office machinery like printers.
Storage flexibility is a primary strength. The two drawers include removable hanging bars that fit Letter, A4, and Legal-size hanging file folders. To make daily filing convenient, full-extension slides let each drawer open fully, ensuring you can reach files tucked all the way in the back without struggling.
Mobility and stability are handled by a five-wheel setup. Four main casters swivel 360 degrees for smooth maneuvering across office floors, while a dedicated center caster on the front prevents the unit from tipping forward when a heavy bottom drawer is extended. For security, an integrated interlock mechanism uses a single key to lock both drawers at once, and two keys come included.
While the cabinet holds up to 330 pounds and fits multiple standard paper sizes, it is limited to two drawer sections, which may restrict users with extensive archiving needs. Additionally, exact exterior measurements are not specified in the listing data, so buyers with tight clearance under their desks will need to plan accordingly.
Verdict: The DEVAISE 2 Drawer File Cabinet is a dependable choice for home or corporate offices needing a compact, mobile filing solution. Its strong steel frame, versatile folder support, and anti-tip wheel design make it well suited for anyone wanting a lockable organizer that can also support a printer.
