Detailed Review
The Peradix Magnetic Chess and Checkers Set combines two classic tabletop games into a single 12.8 by 12.8 by 2-inch walnut wood unit. Designed for both casual household matches and travel, it gives players a stable, self-contained gaming setup that doubles as a tabletop display piece when not in use.
Instead of loose bags or a folding case, this board integrates two built-in drawers directly into the frame. These drawers stay securely attached so they do not slide out accidentally during transit. Inside, individual compartments keep the chess and checkers pieces separated and protected from bumping against one another.
Each playing piece features an internal magnet and a felted base. The magnetic pull keeps pieces steady through accidental bumps or motion during car and plane travel, while the felt bottom prevents the wooden surface from scratching. The chess set also includes two extra queens to simplify pawn promotion during matches.
Because this is a solid 2-inch thick wooden board rather than a foldable design, it requires a dedicated storage footprint in a bag or closet. The listing also does not provide specific details on king height or total checker piece count, which players who want tournament-exact sizing might look for.
Verdict: The Peradix 2-in-1 set is an ideal choice for families, travelers, and casual players wanting an organized, all-wood game board that holds its pieces firmly in place on the move.
