Detailed Review
The Chess Armory Deluxe Tournament Chess Set is a portable, all-in-one package designed for players who need a complete setup for club meetings, tournaments, or casual games away from home. It combines a full-sized playing surface with a dedicated timer and storage, removing the hassle of assembling individual components separately.
At the center of the kit is a 20-inch vinyl chess board. Designed to roll up tightly for travel, the material provides enough weight to stay grounded during play without adding unnecessary bulk to your gear. The set also includes a fully-featured portable chess clock, making it easy to run official tournament-style time controls or fast-paced blitz games wherever you set up.
For transport, the bundle features a heavy-duty carrying bag that neatly accommodates the roll-up board, the chess pieces, and the portable clock. This keeps all your gear organized in one place and protects the components from scuffs while you are traveling between school clubs, tournaments, or community centers.
When considering this set, keep in mind that the listing does not specify exact piece weights, king height, or the specific battery requirements needed to power the chess clock. Buyers looking for precise tournament piece dimensions will need to note that these specific measurements are omitted from the provided details.
Verdict: This set is an excellent choice for club players, students, and tournament competitors who need a complete, travel-ready kit with a full 20-inch board and a clock. It provides everything required to start playing timed games straight out of the carrying bag.
