Detailed Review
The Sangean WR-16SE is a tabletop AM/FM analog radio housed in a wooden cabinet, designed for listeners who want classic radio operation paired with modern connectivity. It combines traditional over-the-air reception with multiple playback options, making it a capable audio hub for desks, nightstands, and living rooms.
For radio reception, the unit utilizes a soft and precise vernier tuning system accompanied by dedicated tuning and band indicators to help you lock onto your preferred broadcast. Audio is powered through a 3-inch 10-watt full-range speaker, supported by deep bass compensation to deliver full-bodied sound from a compact footprint.
Beyond standard AM and FM bands, the radio offers versatile connection choices. You can stream audio wirelessly using built-in Bluetooth 4.1 Class II, plug in MP3 or CD players through the auxiliary input, and keep your mobile device powered via the built-in USB phone charging port.
Because this model relies on an analog tuning dial, users who prefer digital station presets or exact frequency screens may find the interface simple. Additionally, the listing does not state whether it can run on battery power or if an external antenna is included in the box.
Verdict: The Sangean WR-16SE is a solid choice for anyone looking for a warm wooden tabletop radio that combines tactile analog AM/FM tuning with Bluetooth streaming, aux-in versatility, and handy phone charging.
