Retekess TR604 AM FM Radio, Portable Radio Plug in Wall(Black)

The Retekess TR604 is an analog AM/FM portable transistor radio designed for straightforward, fuss-free daily listening. It solves the frustration of complicated digital menus by using an oversized dial and large control knobs, making it an accessible choice for seniors or anyone with poor eyesight who wants immediate access to local music, news, and talk stations.

For sound output, the unit incorporates a 2W speaker capable of producing room-filling audio indoors or clear sound outdoors at the beach or a campsite. Station tuning is assisted by a long 23.62-inch rotatable antenna, which helps secure clear reception without requiring you to move the unit around the room to find a working signal.

Power options offer flexibility for different situations. At home, you can plug the radio directly into a standard AC 110V wall outlet for uninterrupted listening without draining batteries. When taking it outside or preparing for power outages and emergencies, it runs on D size batteries, which provide longer operating time compared to units that rely on AA cells.

Because this model relies on traditional analog dials, it lacks modern conveniences like digital frequency readouts or one-touch preset buttons. The product details also do not specify whether the unit includes an auxiliary input or a dedicated headphone port, and D size batteries are larger and heavier to stock than smaller standard cells.

Verdict: The Retekess TR604 is a practical, reliable option for shoppers who want a loud, easy-to-tune AM/FM radio with dual power choices. It is especially well-suited for older adults or as a dependable emergency backup during power outages.

A great fit if you:

• Need a simple radio with large knobs and easy-to-read analog tuning for a senior relative.
• Want a dual-power unit that plugs into standard 110V wall outlets at home.
• Need a battery-powered emergency receiver that runs on long-lasting D batteries during storms and outages.
• Listen in outdoor settings like the beach or a campsite and need clear, room-filling sound.

Consider something else if you:

• Prefer digital push-button tuning with saved station presets.
• Want a compact, lightweight radio that uses smaller AA batteries.
