LG S70TY 3.1.1 ch QNED TV Matching Soundbar with Wireless Subwoofer - Black

The LG S70TY is a 3.1.1-channel soundbar system paired with a wireless subwoofer, built specifically for home theater setups seeking expanded spatial audio. Designed to complement LG QNED televisions, this compact unit provides a neat audio upgrade for living rooms, media consoles, or wall-mounted displays. It addresses common living room frustrations, such as muffled movie dialogue and cluttered equipment racks, giving movie fans and console gamers a streamlined audio hub.

Dialogue performance is anchored by an industry-exclusive up-firing center channel, which projects spoken lines upward to keep speech distinct from background sound effects. For broader cinema sound, the unit pairs Dolby Atmos with Immersive 3D Spatial Sound to generate a virtual audio dome across your room. An integrated audio upgrade feature also takes standard two-channel stereo signals and upmixes them across all channels to create a broader soundstage. If you choose to expand your setup later, the soundbar supports wireless 2.0-channel rear surround speakers without requiring an external receiver box.

Integration with LG televisions provides substantial convenience through two proprietary software systems. WOW Orchestra synchronizes the soundbar with your LG TV speakers so both output sound at the same time, producing a unified listening experience. Simultaneously, the WOW Interface allows you to adjust volume, verify connection status, and pick sound modes directly on the television screen using only the TV remote. Gamers are also supported through video passthrough with refresh rates up to 120Hz, ensuring swift response times during fast-paced play.

The physical build uses LG's crest design with reduced width and depth, allowing it to nest cleanly beneath a QNED TV on a tabletop stand or mount directly on a wall. A durable metal grill covers the front to shield the drivers from dust and everyday debris. In terms of limitations, key software perks like WOW Orchestra and the WOW Interface depend strictly on pairing with a compatible LG television. Furthermore, while the listing highlights wireless rear surround expansion, it does not confirm whether those rear speakers are included in the box or sold separately, nor does it state the system's exact dimensions or wattage.

Verdict: The LG S70TY is an excellent match for owners of LG QNED or compatible televisions who want clear dialogue, Dolby Atmos spatial sound, and 120Hz gaming passthrough in a tidy form factor. Viewers with other TV brands can still appreciate the up-firing center channel and wireless subwoofer, provided they do not mind foregoing brand-specific interface tools.

A great fit if you:

• Own an LG QNED television and want a slim soundbar that fits beneath the stand while sharing your TV remote controls.
• Struggle to understand movie speech and need a dedicated up-firing center channel combined with Dolby Atmos spatial audio.
• Play modern gaming consoles and require a soundbar that supports passthrough refresh rates up to 120Hz for fast response times.

Consider something else if you:

• Use a television from another manufacturer and want unified on-screen menu controls and simultaneous TV speaker playback.
• Require verified out-of-the-box physical rear surround speakers without needing to check whether the rear kit is sold separately.

Confirm on the listing:

• Check whether the 2.0-channel wireless rear surround speakers are supplied in the box or offered as an optional add-on.
• Measure the clearance of your television stand and screen legs to confirm the soundbar fits neatly into your available space.
• Verify whether your specific LG television model supports WOW Orchestra and the on-screen WOW Interface.
• Check what mounting hardware and connection cables are included if you intend to install the soundbar on a wall.

How to compare your options: Focus on channel configuration, dialogue clarity technology, and passthrough capabilities when evaluating soundbars. This model distinguishes itself with an up-firing center speaker, Dolby Atmos, and 120Hz video passthrough. If you do not own a compatible screen or game at high refresh rates, compare whether a simpler audio system meets your living room requirements.

Position the soundbar centered directly below your television, keeping the top surface unobstructed so the up-firing center channel can project dialogue upward into the room without hindrance.

Place the wireless subwoofer on an open section of the floor near a wall outlet, avoiding enclosed cabinets so the low-frequency audio power can circulate naturally throughout your listening area.

If you connect this soundbar to a compatible LG display, turn on the WOW Interface so you can monitor your audio connection status and switch sound presets using your television remote.

Keep the front metal grill clean by wiping off dust and debris with a dry, soft cloth according to general electronics care guidelines, protecting the speaker drivers over long-term use.
