Detailed Review
The Hauslane IN-R300 range hood insert is a heavy-duty ventilation unit designed to mount inside custom cabinetry or decorative hood shells. Built from stainless steel, it delivers between 500 and 860 CFM of suction to extract grease, steam, and smoke generated during intense cooking techniques such as searing, frying, braising, and boiling.
Operation is managed through simple push buttons with three exhaust fan speeds. The unit relies on a large motor and a dedicated duct system configured to reduce airflow noise, allowing you to carry on kitchen conversations while running the vent. Dual energy-efficient LED lights illuminate your cooktop, while full-size handles on the stainless steel baffle filters make removal and cleaning straightforward. When full of grease, the baffle filters can go directly into the dishwasher.
Installation flexibility is a key strength of this insert. It comes with a 6-inch round exhaust adapter for traditional exterior venting, but it can also be converted for ductless kitchens by adding compatible charcoal filters. A grease collector tube is also included in the package to assist with ongoing maintenance.
Keep in mind that this model is an insert, meaning it requires an appropriate custom surround or cabinet enclosure rather than mounting on an open wall. Additionally, if you plan to install it in a ductless configuration, the necessary charcoal filters are not included in the box and must be purchased separately.
Verdict: The Hauslane IN-R300 is an excellent choice for home cooks who need strong, multi-speed extraction for high-heat cooking inside a custom hood enclosure. Its washable baffle filters and flexible venting options make it a practical centerpiece for custom kitchen builds.
