Detailed Review
The HP LaserJet Pro MFP 3105sdw is a monochrome multifunction laser printer designed for small office teams of up to 7 users who need fast black-and-white printing, scanning, and copying. It handles everyday reports and office paperwork with quick output speeds up to 33 pages per minute and includes automatic paper jam recovery to keep workflows moving.
Day-to-day office tasks benefit from several automated features. Standard automatic two-sided printing cuts down on manual paper flipping, while the document feeder handles automatic single-sided scanning. On the digital side, built-in AI tools help generate smart subject lines, file names, and summaries when scanning straight to email, and HP AI Precise Print strips unwanted layout clutter from web pages and emails before they hit the page.
Getting the machine running is straightforward through guided step-by-step app setup. The HP app connects the printer to your network and enables mobile printing, scanning, copying, and faxing from smartphones across multiple shared devices. Network reliability is supported by Wi-Fi that searches for optimal connections, while HP Wolf Pro Security provides customizable settings to keep company data protected.
There are a few key limitations to keep in mind before buying. The printer only handles black-and-white documents, and while printing is two-sided, scanning through the feeder is strictly one-sided. Additionally, this model requires original HP chip or circuitry cartridges and actively blocks third-party alternatives through periodic firmware updates.
Verdict: The HP LaserJet Pro MFP 3105sdw is a strong choice for small workgroups needing fast, secure monochrome printing and capable mobile tools. It suits offices of up to 7 users who prioritize speed and email scanning over color printing.
