Detailed Review
The Canon Color imageCLASS LBP646Cdw is a dedicated single-function color laser printer designed for users who want reliable, high-speed document output without unnecessary bulk. Delivering prints at up to 26 pages per minute in both monochrome and color, it delivers your first page in roughly 10.3 seconds. This makes it a dependable choice for home offices or small work areas that handle regular document output throughout the day.
Everyday operation is straightforward thanks to built-in wireless connectivity and a 5-line LCD screen for menu navigation. Users can print directly from mobile devices using the Canon PRINT app, Apple AirPrint, or Mopria Print Service, and the unit is also compatible with Chromebooks. For handling regular workloads, it includes a 250-sheet standard paper cassette alongside a 1-sheet multipurpose tray, and it features automatic two-sided printing to help conserve paper.
To help keep long-term maintenance simple, the printer works with Canon Genuine Toner 075 standard and high-capacity cartridges, which offer higher page yields to reduce replacement frequency. It also carries ENERGY STAR certification and an EPEAT Silver rating, meeting recognized efficiency guidelines while operating under an included 1-year limited warranty.
As a single-function device, the main trade-off is the complete absence of scanning, copying, or faxing tools. It is engineered purely for printing, meaning you will need a separate device if you routinely digitize physical paperwork. Additionally, the multipurpose feed tray holds only one sheet at a time, which limits quick batch feeding of alternate media types.
Verdict: The Canon Color imageCLASS LBP646Cdw is an excellent match for home offices and small workspaces that need dependable, fast color printing and automatic two-sided output. If you strictly need to produce documents and do not require scanning or copying, this wireless printer is an efficient, capable pick.
