Detailed Review
The Mattel Jurassic World Colossal Chomp Giganotosaurus is a large-scale action figure designed for dinosaur enthusiasts and young Jurassic World fans. Measuring 28 inches long, it provides an authentic look and interactive movement for anyone looking to expand their dinosaur lineup with a large predator figure.
Interactive movement is a central part of this toy. By controlling the spikes on its back, you can guide the dinosaur to swerve side to side or strike up and down. It also features roaring sound effects and a wide biting attack powered by an unhinged jaw design, making it easy to stage dynamic prehistoric battles. Posable joints allow for varied stances whether playing or setting it up on a shelf.
Digital features extend the play beyond the physical toy. Kids can scan the tracking code located on the dinosaur's foot using the free Jurassic World Play App on a compatible smart device. This unlocks augmented reality activities and gives access to the Ride 'N Rampage: Colossal Chase mini-game, where players race vehicles across land, air, and sea to collect dinosaur DNA.
When considering this toy, keep in mind its physical footprint. At 28 inches long, it takes up noticeable space in a play area or bedroom. Additionally, accessing the AR activities and digital racing games requires a compatible smart device, which is not included in the box.
Verdict: This 28-inch Giganotosaurus is well-suited for Jurassic World fans ages 4 and up who enjoy large posable toys, sound effects, and digital app integration. It combines manual action controls with augmented reality features for a full play experience.
