Detailed Review
The Mattel Jurassic World Muscle Madness Tyrannosaurus Rex Dinosaur Toy is an action-focused figure designed for young fans and collectors seeking dynamic play features. Measuring 21.5 inches long, this figure captures the classic dinosaur profile while incorporating mechanical expansions and audio elements that activate during pretend battles.
Interactive play centers around two dedicated buttons. Pressing the front button triggers an expanding motion across the neck, shoulders, and upper back muscles alongside an active chomp and roar sound. The back button controls the tail, expanding a set of defensive spikes along its length. Combined with posable joints, the figure allows for varied action stances and creative battle scenarios.
Digital features expand play beyond the physical toy. By scanning the tracking code located on the dinosaur foot with a compatible smart device, users can unlock augmented reality features in the free Jurassic World Play App. Within the app, players can access the Ride 'n Rampage: Colossal Chase mini-game to steer vehicles across land, air, and sea while collecting dinosaur DNA.
As for practical considerations, the 21.5-inch length requires dedicated storage room or open shelf space. Accessing the digital mini-games and augmented reality components requires a compatible smart device, which is not included in the package.
Verdict: This large T. rex figure is well-suited for dinosaur enthusiasts aged 4 and older who enjoy physical action features and digital app integration. It makes a versatile addition to any collection looking for expanding muscle mechanics and roar sound effects.
