Detailed Review
The Milwaukee M12 Fuel Compact Band Saw is a cordless, portable cutting tool designed for tradespeople and DIYers who need to make clean cuts in tight or mobile workspaces. Powered by a 12-volt lithium-ion platform, this band saw delivers a maximum speed of 570 feet per minute while remaining easy to handle on the job.
Weighing in at 6.0 pounds with dimensions of 14.12 inches long, 8.0 inches wide, and 6.0 inches high, this tool emphasizes portability. Its straight handle layout and reinforced nylon housing make it sturdy yet manageable. The saw accommodates a 30.5625-inch blade and provides a 2.5-inch throat depth and width capacity for tackling standard stock and tubing. It also features electronic speed control to maintain steady cutting performance, alongside an integrated work light that brightens dark work areas.
Buyers should keep in mind that this is a bare tool, meaning you must supply your own compatible 12V lithium-ion battery and charger. The tool lacks a variable speed option, a lock-on switch, and a thermal overload protector, so you get a fixed top-end cutting speed rather than dial-in modulation.
Verdict: This compact band saw is an excellent choice for users already invested in 12V cordless equipment who need a portable, lightweight cutting solution. It delivers reliable cutting capacity and solid build quality backed by a 5-year manufacturer warranty.
