Detailed Review
The Jensen SMPS-628 Under-Cabinet Universal Bluetooth Music System provides a dedicated audio solution for kitchens or work areas without taking up valuable countertop room. Designed to mount underneath cabinetry, this compact unit is aimed at anyone who wants background music, radio broadcasts, or hands-free calling capabilities while working at a counter.
Wireless connectivity is central to the system, featuring Bluetooth with A2DP support for audio streaming from compatible devices. For phones equipped with NFC, pairing is handled with a simple tap. The unit also includes a built-in microphone, transforming the system into a hands-free speakerphone for answering cellular calls without stepping away from your workspace.
Beyond wireless streaming, the SMPS-628 includes a built-in FM stereo receiver equipped with PLL digital tuning and presets, making it easy to store and navigate favorite radio stations. A multifunction LCD display keeps your current station, mode, and settings visible at a quick glance.
Because this model focuses primarily on wireless streaming and FM reception, it does not include an AM radio band or physical audio auxiliary ports in its listed specifications. Buyers should also note that cabinet installation requires available under-cabinet clearance and secure positioning.
Verdict: The Jensen SMPS-628 is a practical choice for homeowners or apartment dwellers who want wireless audio, FM radio presets, and speakerphone functionality without cluttering their counter space.
