Maxi-Cosi Cassia Smart Baby Swing for Infants, Portable, Foldable Infant Swing with Music, 360 Rotation, 5 Speeds, 12 Melodies, EcoCare Fabric, Auto Motion Sensor, 2 Reclines, Classic Oat

Calming a restless infant while trying to manage daily tasks around the home is an everyday challenge, and this electric baby swing offers a hands-free way to soothe your little one. Built around mobility and responsive soothing, it serves parents who need a flexible resting spot that moves easily between rooms. The Classic Oat aesthetic and EcoCare fabric provide a clean, modern look that blends nicely into living spaces while keeping your infant comfortably supported.

The standout feature is the optional automatic motion detector. When your baby becomes fussy, the sensor detects the movement and triggers soothing motion automatically, helping calm your infant without requiring you to rush across the room to push a button. For hands-on control, the built-in touch screen panel lets you fine-tune the experience with five distinct swing speeds alongside twelve melodies and ambient sounds.

Keeping sight of your infant is simple thanks to the full 360-degree seat rotation. Instead of repositioning the entire base, you can smoothly pivot the seat toward wherever you are sitting or working. Comfort is tailored through two available recline settings and an included newborn inlay that supports smaller infants. Everyday maintenance is also straightforward, as both the newborn inlay and main fabric cover detach easily for machine washing.

Portability is an intentional strength of this design. Weighing only about 10 pounds, the foldable frame is light enough to carry from the nursery to the kitchen or even outside for fresh air. However, having just two recline angles means fewer ergonomic adjustments compared to seats with multi-stage tilting mechanisms, so babies who need very specific seating postures may have limited choices.

Verdict: This infant swing is an excellent choice for caregivers seeking a lightweight, intelligent soothing station that pivots in any direction and can move effortlessly from room to room. Families needing extensive recline angles or an ultra-heavy stationary base may want to consider other alternatives, but for compact convenience and automated soothing, it delivers exceptional utility.

A great fit if you:

• Need a lightweight soother weighing around 10 pounds that you can carry from room to room or take outside.
• Want an automatic sensor that starts swinging motion on its own whenever your infant gets fussy.
• Appreciate a seat that rotates 360 degrees so you can maintain visual contact without moving the frame.
• Prefer low-maintenance baby gear with removable, machine-washable covers and inserts for quick cleanups.

Consider something else if you:

• Require a seat with more than two recline settings for specialized infant positioning.
• Prefer a non-electric, strictly mechanical baby rocker without digital touch screens or automated sensors.

Confirm on the listing:

• Check the product listing for maximum weight and age limits to ensure it accommodates your infant.
• Verify the exact power source requirements, such as whether it uses a wall plug, batteries, or both.
• Check the folded footprint dimensions to ensure it fits comfortably in your intended storage space.
• Confirm the manufacturer cleaning instructions for the EcoCare fabrics before running wash cycles.

How to compare your options: When shopping for an infant soother, weigh overall weight, mobility, and automated features. This model prioritizes low weight at about 10 pounds and adds smart motion detection, making it more dynamic than basic fixed-position rockers. Consider whether 360-degree rotation and built-in music are priorities for your daily routine or if simpler manual seating fits your household better.

Place the swing on a level, stable surface before setting your baby in the seat, ensuring there is ample clearance for the 360-degree rotational swing path. If using it outdoors, choose a flat, dry area sheltered from harsh direct sunlight or damp ground.

Experiment with the five speeds and twelve melodies using the touch screen to find the exact combination that calms your infant best. Activate the optional motion sensor when you step away so the swing can automatically respond if your child starts stirring.

Use the newborn inlay during the early weeks to give your baby proper snug support. When spit-up or spills occur, remove the inlay and fabric covers promptly and machine wash according to the care tag instructions to keep the materials clean and fresh.

Can I wash the fabric parts in a washing machine?
Yes, the fabrics are designed for convenient cleanup. Both the newborn inlay and the main seat cover are fully removable and machine-washable.

How does the automatic motion sensor work?
