Greenworks 40V 21in Push Lawn Mower, 5.0 Ah Battery and Charger

The Greenworks 40V 21-Inch Push Lawn Mower offers a cordless solution for maintaining large grass areas without dealing with extension cords or gas. Powered by an included 5.0 Ah battery and charger, this push mower combines a durable steel deck with a quiet brushless motor designed for yard care routines. It suits homeowners who want flexible clipping management and space saving storage features in their outdoor equipment setup.

At the heart of the mower is a 21-inch steel deck that covers broad paths with every pass to finish large mowing areas quickly. The brushless motor is built to supply extra torque, operate quietly, and offer a longer tool life during regular lawn maintenance. Power comes from a 40V battery system, and with a fully charged 5.0 Ah battery, the mower provides up to 60 minutes of run time. The actual operational time will vary depending on your specific grass conditions and operator technique.

To make mowing sessions more convenient, the mower features a dual battery port design. This allows you to carry a second battery in storage while the active battery fuels the machine, saving you a trip back to your shed or garage when a replacement is needed. For clipping management, the 3-in-1 design allows you to mulch, rear bag, or side discharge your clippings based on your lawn care preferences. When the job is done, the vertical storage design reduces the storage footprint in your garage by up to 70 percent.

There are a few trade-offs to keep in mind based on the mower specification details. First, because this is a manual push lawn mower, moving it across your yard depends entirely on user effort rather than a self-propelled drive system. Second, the dual battery port is designed for onboard storage rather than automatic battery switching or dual-battery simultaneous power. Additionally, total battery run time is capped at up to 60 minutes and fluctuates depending on grass thickness, lawn height, and how you operate the mower.

Verdict: This cordless push mower is a strong fit for homeowners who want a versatile, quiet 21-inch steel deck mower with flexible 3-in-1 clipping options. Backed by a 3-year limited tool and battery warranty, it offers dependable long-term ownership and integrates into an ecosystem of more than 75 Greenworks 40V tools.

If you own or intend to buy other cordless yard tools, check whether the 40V battery platform connects with other outdoor items like trimmers, blowers, or chainsaws.
