Detailed Review
The Pronly 812BT is a compact audio player designed for listeners who want both classic radio broadcasts and modern digital media playback in a single portable unit. It combines vintage styling with contemporary features, making it a straightforward option for bedside tables, backyard gatherings, or emergency preparedness kits when conventional power is unavailable.
For reception, the unit covers FM, AM, and shortwave bands, utilizing a built-in DSP chip alongside a telescopic antenna to capture clear signals for news, sports, and music. Audio comes through a speaker tuned specifically for vocal clarity. Beyond standard radio broadcasts, the device connects to smartphones and tablets via Bluetooth, and it includes dedicated slots for USB drives and TF cards to play preloaded playlists.
Power flexibility is one of its strongest aspects. The unit houses a 1200mAh rechargeable battery charged via USB, features a built-in solar panel for outdoor top-ups, and can run on two optional D-cell batteries during power outages. Physical operation relies entirely on an analog dial and tuning knobs, keeping station selection intuitive without digital menus.
Keep in mind that while it takes D-cell batteries for backup power, you must purchase those separately. Because it relies on a traditional analog dial, there is no digital readout to show exact frequencies or save station presets. The exact length of the telescopic antenna is also not specified in the product listing.
Verdict: The Pronly 812BT is well suited for anyone wanting an uncomplicated, multi-source radio that works both plugged in and off the grid. Its combination of solar charging, battery backup, and Bluetooth streaming makes it a versatile pick for everyday listening and emergency kits alike.
