Detailed Review
The GALAX PRO 5-inch random orbital sander is a corded power tool built for DIY household tasks, furniture restoration, and detailed crafting. It gives woodworkers and hobbyists a dedicated tool for steady material removal, fine surface prep, and surface smoothing without having to rely on battery changes mid-project.
At the center of the tool is a 280W pure copper motor capable of reaching up to 13,000 OPM. Speed management is handled through a 6-speed variable dial that adjusts between 6,000 and 13,000 OPM. This range allows you to switch from high-speed paint and rust removal down to lower speeds intended for delicate polishing work on sensitive materials.
To help maintain a tidy workspace, the unit utilizes a detachable dust collector designed to capture fine wood particles during operation. The ergonomic palm handle is finished with a rubberized soft grip, which works to cushion against heavy vibrations and provide slip-resistant handling during extended work sessions.
As a corded sander, it requires access to an electrical outlet, limiting portability outside the workshop. The product information also contains minor discrepancies: the title lists a 2.4-Amp rating and 15 sandpapers, while the detailed description specifies a 2.5-Amp motor and includes 20 sanding discs.
Verdict: The GALAX PRO 5-inch sander is a solid pick for woodworkers and DIYers who need steady corded power, variable speed control, and an assortment of sanding discs right out of the box.
