Detailed Review
The Plastair SpaceSaver SpringHose is a compact, self-retracting coiled water hose tailored for homeowners and renters managing tight outdoor areas. Measuring 25 feet in length with a 3/8-inch inner diameter, this hose solves the common hassle of wrangling, coiling, and storing bulky traditional garden hoses on small patios, decks, or balconies.
Crafted in Canada from flexible Plastomer material, the hose is built to handle changing weather conditions while maintaining its spring-like shape. Its inherent coil design automatically snaps back into place when you finish watering, preventing kinks and tangles while keeping walkways clear. The built-in quick connect system and black nylon fittings attach to standard water outlets, ensuring a reliable, leak-proof connection during everyday chores like watering plants, cleaning decks, or washing vehicles.
In addition to its compact form, the transparent blue hose offers notable material advantages. It is certified drinking water safe, making it a reliable option for tasks requiring potable water. The material is also UV resistant and rated for 15 years of outdoor exposure, which helps it retain its structural integrity and bright blue color even when left in direct sunlight.
There are a few trade-offs inherent to its design. At 25 feet in total length, it is specifically intended for smaller working radiuses and will not suit large yards. The 3/8-inch diameter is also narrower than standard 5/8-inch hoses, which delivers a lighter feel and easier handling but yields lower overall water volume for heavy-duty cleaning tasks.
Verdict: The Plastair SpaceSaver is an excellent choice for apartment dwellers, patio gardeners, and small-space homeowners looking for a kink-free, potable-safe hose that stores itself neatly. If you need an easy-to-manage water line for compact spaces, this durable coiled hose fits the bill.
