Storkcraft Rio 3 Drawer Chest with Removable Changing Topper, Driftwood

The Storkcraft Rio 3 Drawer Chest with Removable Changing Topper serves as a dual-purpose nursery centerpiece. It combines everyday diaper-changing functionality with three drawers of clothing storage, making it suitable for parents setting up a functional, space-conscious baby room. Crafted with solid wood framing, wood composites, and solid wood turnings, it transitions easily into a standalone dresser once your child outgrows diaper changes.

Daily nursery safety and air quality are central to this design. The chest is GREENGUARD Gold Certified, meaning it is tested and screened for more than 15,000 VOCs to support cleaner indoor air. For physical stability, the built-in interlocking drawer mechanism ensures only one drawer opens at a time, which works alongside the included tip-over restraint kit to reduce tipping hazards around curious toddlers.

Building nursery furniture can often be time-consuming, but this model includes pre-installed drawer tracks to simplify the building process. The removable topper sits securely on top during the diapering stage and lifts away cleanly when no longer needed, leaving behind a classic three-drawer bedroom dresser.

Keep in mind that this unit requires assembly, and Storkcraft recommends having two people on hand to put it together safely. In addition, you will need to purchase a separate changing pad, as one is not supplied with the chest. The interlocking drawer mechanism also means you cannot keep multiple drawers open at once while organizing.

Verdict: The Storkcraft Rio chest is a solid investment for parents who want a secure, low-emission storage solution that adapts from the infant months into childhood. Its convertible topper and certified air-quality standards make it a dependable choice for any growing nursery.
