Detailed Review
The Brotima Matte Black Front Door Handleset combines an exterior passage handle with a keyed deadbolt to secure residential entryways. Crafted from heavy-duty zinc alloy with a clean matte black finish, it provides a solid grip while upgrading standard exterior entry doors.
Daily security and operation are straightforward. The single deadbolt locks from the interior using a thumb turn knob and locks from the outside using physical keys, with three keys included in the package. The set features a universal design that works on either left-handed or right-handed doors, adapting easily to your specific doorway layout.
Fitting the hardware to your door is simplified through flexible sizing. The latch adjusts to accommodate backsets of either 2-3/8 inches or 2-3/4 inches (60mm or 70mm) and fits standard door thicknesses ranging from 1-3/8 inches to 1-3/4 inches (35mm to 45mm). Built to ANSI Grade 3 standards, the set has exceeded 250,000 cycles and passed a 72-hour salt spray corrosion test alongside an 810mm multi-angle drop test.
Installation is designed for DIY homeowners, requiring only a standard Phillips screwdriver alongside the supplied hardware accessories. As a mechanical set, it does not offer keypad entry or smart features, and it is limited strictly to doors within the standard 1-3/8 to 1-3/4 inch thickness range.
Verdict: The Brotima Handleset is an excellent choice for homeowners seeking a durable, traditionally keyed exterior door lock that is easy to install and built to withstand everyday outdoor exposure.
