Detailed Review
The BONLION Retro Metal Solar Lanterns come as a two-pack designed to bring decorative ambient lighting to patios, decks, and garden tables. Crafted with a vintage copper-style metal finish and hollowed-out cutouts, these tabletop fixtures project floral shadow patterns across surrounding surfaces once the sun sets. They provide an easy way to dress up outdoor living areas without running electrical wiring or buying replacement disposable batteries.
Functionality centers on flexibility and efficient charging. Each lantern features a switch beneath the solar panel that toggles between warm light and cool white illumination. An integrated 800mAh battery pairs with an upgraded solar panel to fully recharge in 6 to 8 hours of direct sun, powering continuous illumination for 10 to 12 hours throughout the night.
Setup is straightforward and requires no tools. You simply remove the protective cover film, switch the unit on, and place it in an area that receives ample sunlight. With an IP65 waterproof rating, the painted metal build withstands typical outdoor conditions including wind and rain, making it suitable for pathways, porches, or outdoor counters.
Keep in mind that these lanterns are freestanding tabletop and floor units rather than hanging fixtures, as they do not come with clips. Their performance also relies entirely on adequate direct daytime sunlight, meaning shaded placement will affect charge times and evening run time.
