Detailed Review
The RONGTER 8-inch Sponge Cutting Knife set delivers a straightforward solution for anyone needing clean, precise cuts through foam, sponge, sofa cushions, and upholstery materials. Designed for manual operation, this six-piece pack helps users reshape or resize dense and soft padding without the ragged edges often left behind by standard utility tools.
Each knife is constructed from SK2 steel, providing the rigidity and control necessary to work through thick materials like mattresses, packaging inserts, and foam insulation. Because they are guided entirely by hand, these blades make it easy to follow drawn guidelines, shave edges, round off corners, or make fine adjustments during prototype builds and furniture repairs.
To maintain performance, the manufacturer recommends using these knives on a soft, non-metal work mat. Cutting against hard surfaces like stone, ceramic, marble, glass, or metal can quickly dull the SK2 steel edge, so workspace preparation is necessary to keep each blade functioning well.
Verdict: The RONGTER 8-inch Sponge Cutting Knife pack is a solid choice for upholsterers, crafters, and DIYers who need reliable hand tools for shaping foam. With six sturdy steel blades included, it offers great utility for workshops and multi-station projects.
