Detailed Review
The Western Digital WD_Black P10 Game Drive is a portable external hard drive designed to expand available storage for console and PC players. It solves the issue of running out of space for expanding game collections, giving you a dedicated place to store classic titles while keeping room free for new installations.
Built with a portable form factor, the drive features a sleek metal top covering for carrying your collection between setups. It reaches data speeds of up to 130MB/s, providing dependable data transfers when moving or loading your titles. In broader series configurations, the P10 lineup supports capacities up to 6TB, capable of holding up to 150 games.
Compatibility is straightforward across multiple gaming platforms. On Xbox Series X|S, you can play and store Xbox One titles directly or archive native Xbox Series X|S games. PlayStation 5 users can similarly store and play PS4 releases straight from the drive, or use it to archive PS5 games to save internal console storage.
Because this is a standard HDD rather than an SSD, transfer speeds are capped at 130MB/s, and newer PS5 and Xbox Series X|S games must be copied back to internal storage to play. Additionally, the listing does not include physical dimensions, weight, or connection cable types.
Verdict: The WD_Black P10 is a solid choice for console and PC gamers looking to expand storage and archive large libraries. It offers dependable performance, strong backward-compatibility playback, and the reassurance of a 3-year limited warranty.
