Detailed Review
This wired PoE video doorbell provides steady front-door surveillance for homeowners seeking a stable, continuous recording setup without monthly fees. By relying on a hardwired Ethernet connection instead of Wi-Fi, it avoids spotty wireless drops and keeps recording 24/7 even if your internet connection goes down.
Video quality is centered on a 2K Super HD sensor with a 4:3 aspect ratio, giving a wide perspective of 135 degrees horizontal, 100 degrees vertical, and 180 degrees diagonal. Technologies like HDR, 3D DNR, and distortion correction help deliver clear footage in low-light environments. The camera also includes a 15-degree wedge kit to help angle the lens properly during installation.
Daily notifications stay relevant thanks to humanoid detection, which lets you ignore non-human movement across customized motion zones. When activity triggers an alert, the system captures a 6-second pre-roll clip to show what happened just before the event. Visitors can be greeted via preset voice messages or automated replies, and the included Chime V2 plugs into any standard wall outlet with ten selectable chime tunes and volume control.
Because this model requires a wired setup, it does not support Wi-Fi connectivity at all. You will need to supply your own compatible power source, such as an IEEE802.3af PoE switch, an injector, a 12-24V AC transformer, a 24V DC supply, or a dedicated brand NVR. Note that third-party NVR systems are not supported, and a microSD card must be purchased separately if you choose card storage.
Verdict: This doorbell is an excellent choice for buyers who have or want an Ethernet-based home security setup with zero subscription costs. It delivers reliable 2K monitoring and local recording, provided you do not need Wi-Fi or third-party NVR compatibility.
