Detailed Review
The Pokemon Battle Academy Board Game is an all-in-one boxed set designed to make learning the Pokémon Trading Card Game straightforward and accessible. It gives two players everything needed to start playing right away without having to buy separate booster packs or construct decks from scratch.
The box includes three complete 60-card decks, each built around a featured card: Cinderace V, Pikachu V, or Eevee V. The Eevee deck also comes with two copies of a promo card featuring Galarian Obstagoon. Setup and early matches are guided by an instruction sheet, two step-by-step tutorial guides, a full rulebook, and a dedicated two-player game board that clearly defines play areas.
For table upkeep and gameplay tracking, the set provides three individual deck boxes to keep cards separated, a set of damage counters, and a large metallic coin featuring Cinderace, Pikachu, and Eevee. Because the included game board is designed specifically for two players, it is built for head-to-head matches rather than larger group play at a single board.
Verdict: The Pokemon Battle Academy is a practical, complete starting kit for two players looking to learn the card game with guided tutorials, structured components, and ready-made decks.
