DEWALT 12-Inch Miter Saw, 15-Amp, Single Bevel, Compound (DWS715)

The DEWALT DWS715 is a 12-inch compound miter saw powered by a 15-amp motor, built to handle standard framing cuts and fine trim work. It provides woodworkers and DIY builders with a dependable cutting station for standard lumber and molding.

Material support and alignment are key strengths of this setup. The tool incorporates a precise miter system with a machined base fence, paired with a tall sliding fence that handles 5-1/2-inch base molding placed vertically against it. A stainless-steel miter detent plate provides 14 positive stops, helping you lock in standard cutting angles quickly and consistently.

In terms of capacity, the saw crosscuts 2-inch by 8-inch dimensional lumber at a standard 90-degree setting, and cuts 2-inch by 6-inch lumber when set at 45 degrees. For angled bevel cuts, it tilts from 0 to 48 degrees to the left and 0 to 3 degrees to the right. Note that because it is a single-bevel compound saw, bevel adjustments to the right are limited to 3 degrees, which means you will occasionally need to flip your workpiece.

Verdict: The DEWALT DWS715 delivers solid cutting capacity and vertical fence clearance for everyday framing and molding tasks. It is an excellent choice for anyone needing a dependable 12-inch cutting platform with repeatable angle stops.
