Viper by GLD Products 850 Electronic Soft Tip Dart Board, Automatic Scoring

The Viper by GLD Products 850 Electronic Dartboard brings automated scoring and extensive game variety to game rooms and home setups. Designed with a regulation 15.5-inch target face made of high-grade nylon, it provides standard tournament sizing for soft tip dart players. The board uses an ultra-thin spider between the scoring segments, which helps prevent darts from bouncing back off the surface.

Scorekeeping is handled entirely by the board via a bright LED display that remains legible from the throw line. With 50 built-in games and 470 scoring variations, including Cricket and 01, it accommodates group gatherings of up to eight players. When playing alone, you can engage a built-in computer opponent for 01 games. Gameplay can be tailored to your group using options like split or full bull, double in and double out rules, and handicap settings to balance matches between players of differing skill levels.

Setup is straightforward because the set includes mounting hardware, a throw line, a throw line measuring tape, and an AC adapter for power. You also receive six starter soft tip darts and 24 replacement tips to begin playing immediately.

As for limitations, the board is strictly rated for soft tip darts weighing up to 20 grams, meaning heavier or steel-tip darts cannot be used. It also relies on the included AC adapter, so you will need an electrical outlet close to your playing area.

Verdict: The Viper 850 is a well-equipped electronic dartboard for casual gatherings and solo practice alike. It is an ideal pick for players who want automated scorekeeping, regulation target sizing, and a complete starter kit right out of the box.
