Detailed Review
The AmazonBasics AC-Powered Computer Speakers offer a straightforward wired audio setup for desktop or laptop computers. Designed for everyday listening at a desk, this two-piece set connects to audio devices using a standard 3.5mm audio plug and draws power directly from a wall outlet.
Daily operation centers around a single front-mounted knob that manages power and volume. Turning this dial switches the unit between standby and active modes while adjusting volume levels. For private listening, the front panel includes an integrated 3.5mm headphone jack, keeping you from having to reach behind your computer to switch audio paths.
Because these speakers rely on a dedicated 10W wall connection rather than USB power, they require an open electrical outlet near your desk. Audio output is rated at 4.6 watts total RMS (2.3 watts per speaker) with a frequency range spanning 68 Hz to 20 KHz, which suits close-range listening rather than filling large rooms.
Verdict: These speakers are a practical choice for anyone wanting simple, plug-and-play desktop sound with accessible front controls and a built-in headphone pass-through. They fit best in workspaces where an AC outlet is readily available.
