Detailed Review
The Rhino USA Folding Survival Shovel provides a compact digging and clearing solution for campers, off-roaders, and outdoor enthusiasts who need versatile utility without carrying bulky full-sized gear.
Its three-in-one design handles multiple jobs with simple adjustments. You can set the head to a standard 180-degree angle for traditional digging, or switch to the 90-degree pickaxe and 90-degree pick hoe configurations to break up tough ground and clear debris. Built from carbon steel with a black powder-coated finish, it provides solid structural strength while resisting corrosion over time.
Portability is a central feature of this entrenching tool. While it extends to a full 22 inches in length when deployed, it collapses down to just 9 by 6 inches for transport. At only 2 pounds, it adds minimal weight to your pack or vehicle storage, fitting neatly into its included heavy-duty carry case.
The compact design does come with natural trade-offs. Because the total extended length is 22 inches, users will need to bend or kneel while digging, and it will not provide the same leverage as standard, long-handled tools.
Verdict: This folding shovel is a reliable pick for outdoor adventurers who value lightweight portability and multi-angle utility in a single compact package.
