Detailed Review

DAP 18715 Extreme Stretch Elastomeric Sealant is a flexible caulk formulated to bridge moving joints without cracking. Sold as a pack of two 10.1-ounce cartridges, it is designed for homeowners and professionals tackling gaps that shift over time.

The sealant expands and contracts with up to 600 percent stretch, providing a crackproof hold on active joints. It bonds across a broad range of fixtures and building materials, including windows, doors, tubs, sinks, countertops, pipes, walls, and gutters. Its waterproof barrier also makes it suitable for moisture-heavy locations such as pools and exterior siding.

Application stays manageable thanks to its ability to bridge joints up to 3 inches wide. Uncured excess rinses away with plain water, and the white finish accepts paint after just two hours of drying time to help speed up home repairs.

As for limitations, the product comes in a standard white color, so projects requiring a clear or pre-tinted bead will need painting. Additionally, water clean-up applies only before the sealant cures, requiring prompt wiping during application.

Verdict: DAP Extreme Stretch Sealant is an excellent choice for anyone needing a durable, waterproof caulk that handles shifting joints. It is especially well-suited for wide gaps around exterior trim, bathrooms, and windows where fast paintability is a plus.
