Detailed Review
The HomePlanetGear EverSaw 8-Inch Folding Hand Saw is a manual cutting tool designed for yard maintenance, camping, backpacking, and hunting. Built with an adjustable medium-tooth SK5 carbon steel blade, this compact saw tackles everyday pruning jobs, trail clearing, and processing materials away from home.
Cutting performance relies on a pull-cut design featuring triple-cut razor teeth arranged at 9 teeth per inch (9 TPI). This configuration allows the hardened blade to slice smoothly through tree branches, bone, and PVC plastic up to 4 inches in diameter. The ergonomic handle is lined with ribbed rubber, ensuring a firm, non-slip grip even during extended sawing sessions.
For safety and portability, the saw uses a dependable gear lock that keeps the blade firmly fixed in the open position while working. When you finish cutting, the blade folds into the handle, measuring 9.5 inches closed with no teeth exposed. Extended fully, the tool measures 17 inches from tip to handle base, making it easy to store in a backpack or tool bag.
Because it is a compact manual tool, cutting capacity is capped at materials 4 inches in diameter, so larger logs or heavy-duty construction lumber will require larger equipment. The manufacturer also directs all customer assistance and issue resolution through Amazon messaging.
Verdict: The HomePlanetGear EverSaw is an excellent choice for hikers, hunters, and gardeners seeking a reliable, packable cutting tool. It delivers dependable pull-stroke cutting on wood, bone, and plastic without taking up excess pack space.
