Detailed Review
Ardex CG Concrete Guard is a waterborne acrylic sealer designed to protect and enhance bare, decorative, or stained concrete. Packaged in a 1-gallon pail with a gray color designation, it solves the problem of surface wear on high-traffic areas such as driveways, garage floors, patios, basements, and commercial spaces.
The high-solids acrylic resin technology delivers deep surface penetration and long-lasting adhesion. Once applied, it forms a breathable protective barrier that helps surfaces resist water intrusion, household chemicals, de-icing salts, and common stains. It also protects against UV-induced fading and yellowing, making it suitable for both interior and exterior installations.
A key limitation to keep in mind is that the product data does not provide specific coverage rates per gallon, recoat windows, or detailed application tool instructions. Buyers will need to plan their project quantities without stated square footage figures on the listing.
Verdict: Ardex CG Concrete Guard is well suited for homeowners and facility managers needing a versatile sealer for interior or exterior concrete. It provides dependable defense against stains, chemicals, and outdoor elements while bringing out the natural depth of decorative surfaces.
