Detailed Review
The InStep Take 2 Kids Bike Trailer provides a dedicated way to transport up to two children on neighborhood rides, park trips, and paved paths. Built around a durable steel frame, it supports a total weight capacity of up to 80 pounds, allowing you to tow little passengers alongside essential cargo.
For daily travel and comfort, the trailer is equipped with 16-inch pneumatic tires on molded rims that help absorb bumps across uneven pavement. Passenger safety is addressed through integrated five-point safety harnesses and an included safety flag. To handle changing weather, the polyester blend cabin features a 2-in-1 canopy equipped with both a protective weather shield and a mesh bug screen.
When it comes to bike setup and storage, the included universal coupler allows quick attachment to most standard bicycles. The trailer also features a folding frame mechanism combined with quick-release wheels, which helps it collapse down for storage in tight spaces or transport inside a vehicle trunk.
As a dedicated pull-behind trailer, it does not offer stroller conversion features or walking handles. Families carrying two larger toddlers will also want to keep the strict 80-pound overall limit in mind when planning their trips.
Verdict: The InStep Take 2 is a dependable, straightforward double trailer for parents looking to take one or two young kids on casual bike rides. Its universal hitch, folding design, and built-in weather protection make it a practical pick for regular neighborhood outings.
